Close Call on Oklahoma Buck

Didn’t use a saddle in this hunt because I had a buddy with me but figured y’all would enjoy seeing such a high quality Deer.

Nice buck. Whereabouts in southern Oklahoma? I have been impressed with the genetics of the Northeast Texas/Southeast Oklahoma area. If you can get a buck to 4.5+ (which can be really hard to do) they can be absolute monsters.

That is on the Red River just south of Idabel, OK.

That area has a ton of crops and the deer really grow big there. Plus the OK rifle season is really short so the Deer grow to be older.

Ya, I hunt from Durant, west to Marietta. Not as many crops over there... mainly grazing. But, still good bucks.
