I noticed a number of people using these for smaller diameter rope as a substitute for the Ropeman 2 that are used on larger diameter rope or even friction hitches for their lineman’s belt and tether. I came across Climbing Technologies YouTube page and saw where they were giving an overview of this device. Something that was a little surprising to me was that in the vertical down locking position which most saddle hunters would use it is rated to a max of 4kN or ~900lbf.
I would just urge y’all to back this up when tethered in or use it as the manufacturer intends which is a positioning aid (which should always be backed up).
This may have already been brought up but I thought I’d throw it out there.
