Decided one platform just wasn't enough....

Weighed one of these last night. 4lbs exactly. I'm convinced this is about the best platform build out there for how I use it. The whoopie sling is awesome and they dig in so good they don't move at all on the tree!

Agree. I use the Klemz model a lot - it weighs in around 2.6 - however moving around to shoot 360 (behind you) is not near as easy as shooting from the XOP seat platform. And for about 1.5 pounds added weight the benefits of 360 shooting (ease of movement) and leveling platform - it is worth the added weight.

Can some one give a detailed list of all the items you used to make your platform and where you got them from. Please and thank you.

Sean the parts needed are pretty obvious looking at the pics or reading through the builds in the DIY forum. All xop parts except the aluminum tube and steel plate. Those later 2 can be ordered from online metals or likely cheaper from a local fabrication shop in your area.

Would the hawk tree seat work as a platform?

Honestly just buy the parts and make one like this. It is ROCK solid! I can swing off in any direction pushing from the side of the platform and it never moves. This is the best thing I have added to my saddle hunting gear no doubt. I had $104 in building it with all new parts. You can take off $20 if you have some brackets from a stick.

I ordered all my parts to build the flinin platform And parts to modify a lone wolf stick and seat from my assault I never use any more. Just a platform I've been thinking about for a long time. If it doesn't work I know I'll have a flingin platform ready!
