Decided one platform just wasn't enough....

I use the pad in place of knee pads

I strap the platform to my pack and carry my spikes in my left hand. When I set the platform and get on it I take the spikes of and lower them to the ground with my pull-up rope. I have gear to rappel now so I will just leave them on the ground and rappel down

Heads up flinging, all it takes is one deer to smell anything you left on the ground and the hunt is ruined. Id leave the spurs in the tree till its time to go, lower em and then rappel down.

Yeah true. Could always hook them with my bow and let it all down at once. A hook on the backside of the tree would hold them out of the way.

Ok thanks. Iwould like to strap both to a pack so all I'm carrying is my bow. Don't know how though.

If I didn't have camera gear I could fit my spikes in my pack I think. The way I carry it now isn't bad at all though. I walked nearly six miles hunting this past weekend and it never bothered me once.

I hardly carry anything bowhunting so I don't need a big backpack at all. But I need something big enough to strapthe platform too.

It would fit on a pretty small pack. Heck if you didn't need a pack you could fasten some backpack straps to the platform and strap the spikes to the platform lol

Of course. Why didn't I think of that. Haha. Thanks. I'll probably try that. I have been using my little kids camo backpack which super small and it holds everything fine.

Another idea...a small pack that fastens to the bottom of the platform and holds some
Of your items. Can just leave it on the bottom side of the platform when your using it.

Speaking from an earlier post. I use an oversized leaf bag on the ground to put gear in. I just twist it and fold it under.

Honestly just buy the parts and make one like this. It is ROCK solid! I can swing off in any direction pushing from the side of the platform and it never moves. This is the best thing I have added to my saddle hunting gear no doubt. I had $104 in building it with all new parts. You can take off $20 if you have some brackets from a stick.

Can u send me the link for the aluminum tube? Ty

I ordered all my parts to build the flinin platform And parts to modify a lone wolf stick and seat from my assault I never use any more. Just a platform I've been thinking about for a long time. If it doesn't work I know I'll have a flingin platform ready!
If it doesn't work and you want to sell the assault seat, let me know !)

Flingin- Do you have any more detailed pictures of this new model with the 1.25 tube? bracket ends? folded up pics? measurements? etc? Im finishing up mine this weekend and want to make sure my measurements are at least close. After all the searching on this site it seems like platforms like yours and the one bowhunter15 just built seem to be the gold standard. Thanks to you and to all the great input from members on this site mine is finally coming to fruition. Thanks in advance

The measurements for bracket and seat placement aren't all that important. The bolts for my brackets are about 1 1/4 inches from the ends. The seat platform is mounted about 2 1/2 inches from the top. It folds flat. Make sure you use plenty of nylon washers to silence any metal on metal contact. That's about it. These things are wicked simple to make once you have everything.

G2 has it right. The measurements don't really need to be exact. I put the brackets flush with the end of the tube and the seat 4" down from the top. Works great.
