Distel hitch tied with a 1/8” technora

Has any one experienced issues with the Distel hitch tied with a 1/8” technora being very difficult to slide on the 8 mm rope once weight has been applied? I purchased the Rope accessory kit from TX 5 and this is the set up that they use. The reviews on their web page were very positive. My expectations were high, however, after several climbs I've discovered the complete opposite. Definitely not one handed operation for me.
