Had an EPIC weekend in KY and killed my first two birds! I’ve been chasing them here In GA for 5+ years. Have had several chances and should have killed at least 4 or 5 by now, but I am almost famous for my EPIC fails. This weekend was no exception on the epic fails, except this time, the endings were quite different.
My First fail this weekend was also the first time an epic fail ended up being a good thing! A BIG Jake came in to our setup the first night I got there on Thursday. Now even though I knew it was a Jake, I pulled the trigger and was absolutely gonna kill him as my first bird, but the gun just went “click”……no ammo! My cousin who is host and videotaping the whole thing, says “go ahead and put one in”. My reply was simple….”I have no ammo” ugh! I told him I was full of epic fails and am glad I didn’t disappoint….lol He was a great Jake and I’ll kill him next year! I’m gonna post this, then add the videos of the other two hunts cause my iPad is on its last leg. Here is the Jake as he came in in front of a cam and us!

After a late night I was up at 4 AM! I had time for a short hunt before I had to get home. Skip past the 1st 5 minutes as he took his time coming in. This time I had a bad shell primer that never went off when I pulled the trigger! I froze for a few seconds, then ejected the shell, but somehow 2 got in the receiver and the gun was jammed! I had to turn it upside down and dig one out. Finally got it out and the last shell in and he was still there! Boom! DRT! I was beside myself and couldn’t believe it!
My phone was hanging outside the front of the blind so you’ll have to crank up the volume to hear me freak out!
