The first saddlehunter.com video has been posted on youtube on how I setup a pre-set tree using screw in tree steps. I have sped up the video to condense over an hour of setting up a tree into under than 10 minutes. You can view the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeQuP8i-tiE or here http://saddlehunter.com/videos/.

Please post any comments on the video/technique or any feedback that I can use for future videos here.

Edited to add video to post:

Scott,

Good video! In the future (if you have time) if you edited a video with one or two steps and the platform in real-time speed with commentary I'd find that educational as well. I setup very similarly to you without the extra upside-down step installed up high. I usually just look for a knot or smaller branch for the tree strap.

Thanks for your video,
Dave

Great idea Dave. I'll take the go pro with me on the next tree I setup and see how it works out. I figured I would give filming the whole setup a shot and see how it went. I like using the upside down tree step opposed to a branch or knot because I can always set it at the height I need it to be.

Do you mind sharing the name brand of that tree step tool you're using? I've built three and I'm not really satisfied with any of them I'm on my fourth one now and it seems to be pretty good but yours looks a little better.

Good video.. I'd be interested in something similar when you get to hunting with the rope system!

It is called the ultimate tree step tool. It was a life changer!

I don't know when I will be able to do it, but at some point I plan on putting together something for all of the climbing methods. I have pretty much invested in them all to try out. My first plan was to put a climbing methods page on the main site, and then hopefully I can add some videos to it as well.
