First set for the year. Deer had been walking the edges of the fields eating the fresh clover as it spouted. Then the turned it all in guessing for dove season. No deer seen I stayed from 4 am until 12 am then moved.

Set 2 I set up between acorn patches there were trails coming up from the river across to me and down from the ridge. Looked good. No deer seen I stayed from 2pm until dark 30. Lost 2 bolts and broadheads walking out. Frustrating

Had the opportunity to hunt Prentice Cooper this weekend. I decided to stay home and get some more brownie points instead.

Can't wait till Saturday!

Third set of the season inside corner of a late planted bean field. There's a long steep ditch with crossings on both ends. I'm at the west end. I'm between the fields and bedding. Hope it works out.

You really never know how bad of shape your in until you walk through a 1/2 mile of beans. Pick those legs up!!! Oh and carrying a crossbow in the woods sux. What's the trick for it not to catch on everything!!!! OMG!!!!

We opened today. I'm going to try to get out this afternoon but might have other obligations. It's going to be near 90...

I lost an arrow during spring turkey and spent hours retracing my steps till I found it, and lost a broadhead that fell off, sucked this things aren't cheap! I ended up getting a black rubber wire storage wrap and wrapped it around my quiver, makes getting arrows a little harder but I haven't lost anything since, also I started using a little lock tight on my broadhead threads. You can get them at home depot

Set 4 for the season sitting on chinquapin hill. There always is a lot of movement through this part of the woods. I had a doe under me before I got my crossbow pulled up. I heard the deer cross the creek under me but walked up stream and in the the woods south of me.
