Ghillie and (cough) skirt/kilt

I have a homemade ghillie suit my old boss gave me. It's too bulky.. Thinking about trimming it down and placing most of the bulk (mother in law gave me and the wife an old sewing machine and now I get to learn) of the material in the neck and shoulder areas. That make sense to you guys?
Also, I thought why not sew up a skirt like kilt like thing for my upper legs on the suit.. Sounds weird but it would break up the leg outline and keep my human shape less like a human shape. Any thoughts?

I've had same thoughts on some beat up and cockleburr-full ghillie suits. A kilt would be easier to walk in and out with suit on and it may not collect so many burrs.

My limited experience using ghillie suits is that the main thing is breaking up the head/shoulder outline. The rest of our body is a blob to a deer, but a blob with another smaller blob on top makes them suspicious. A boonie hat with ghillie material works great for this. Redbeard also has some really cool ghillie capes (?) if I remember correctly.

In my experience regular pants work great with a ghillie top. It makes moving around a lot easier.

If you are bowhunting out of it make sure to shoot out of it and trim anything that will get into the bowstring.
