Hand climber

I really love my Summit but I don't like to drag it around the woods. I have the LWHC, like it but it is a little wobbly and I've been trying to find a good way to get around the adjustment while climbing which I think is a big pain.. I picked up a Ascent2 climber but don't like the cables and pins. So I've decided to cut down my Summit. I didn't touch the width but I cut the length as short as I could. It weighs 8 lbs 3 ounces that's not bad. I'm going to keep messing with it. You just can't beat it for stability and comfort.

I've been playing with my Viper, I filed all the snag points filled with foam what I could and wrapped some and its very quiet now. I agree with @2Sloe I'll pick up some JB tomorrow and fill that area. After cutting it down it measures 20" wide, 29" long and weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces. That's not bad for a climbing system and large platform.

Did you cut the bottom of the viper down or just do the full work?

Ok I am building my own hand climber (solid 3/4" aluminum billet milled out) I wanted to go with summit cables but unsure of having to build the locking device or just go with pins like what was done early in the thread. Anyone use the pins or just build it like the summit intended for the cables?

Take a look at the X-Stand climber stylr cables. Much lighter than the Summit, just as safe, uses a pin. I am going to have a set made for my Summit like the X during the off-season to cut weight.

I went to look for them but all their climbing stands are off their website and I found this Screenshot_20221212-070035_Samsung Internet.jpg
