HANGIN OUT in INDIANA

I SPEND ALL MY MONEY ON DOGS, HUNTING, RACING, WOMEN, & BEER........... whatever is left over I just waste!!!!!:sunglasses:

went back down to the small group of trees I have behind my house and checked to see that I have two or three trees I can demo my Guidos in as soon as I get it without leaving the house...........I never used a climber and left the store to the woods up a tree and called two coyotes so I think I can handle this easily BUT it will be nice to get a demo or two under my belt before I hit the woods..........now I'm strongly considering deer hunting the first two weeks of October ILO just coyote stand scouting like usual........this whole project is getting me JACKED UP!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

my Guidos is already done and got shipped yesterday & shows it landing here tomorrow:hearteyes:............BINGO DINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

got to delving to MUCH into the bow hunting and deer hunting vids after getting involved here with the Guidos...........now I'm paper tuning and the whole nine yards.......hahahahaha..........u now how it is when u start trying something new.....I have just been a yard shooter so far with the bow.......im sure my bow is tuned fine BUT the only way I can feel its as good as it can possibly be & as good as my gun is to go thru it myself...........either way I made this paper tune holder out of scraps in about 15 minutes I could secure down easily ..........also really stapled my paper as most probably would just do the corners BUT again I'm anal about most things and don't want any flex at all in that paper to get the EXACT within reason read hole the arrow makes upon pass thru............so the less paper flex has to give the best result & I never seen one video say that yet but that's just my opinion hence the use of plywood & a multitude of staples holding the paper.....BINGO DINGO!!!!!!:sunglasses:

well I found lots of problems with my rest & D loop position ..............
1) my bow was throwing arrows thru paper with a 3" tear downward & left at first I thought it was me but it done it first three arrows
2) I made adjustments as far as I could and my QAD arrow rest now makes contact with my bow shelf bad and I still have a 1/4" downward tear to remove
3) I'm guessing that it has to be my D loop and I cant get enough adjustment out of the QAD to lower it enough to take the rest of the paper tear out let alone the fact it was a 1/16" of the bow shelf after release which seems correct BUT now as stated it obviously makes contact after adjusting it & the arrow is released........

My bow was supposedly set up by a been to the Olympics PRO shooter & has been BS from the word go so be careful who u TRUST............the pic below is how it shot this morning before I found all this out and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't do any better..........now I know my stuff has been all jacked up from the start BUT I can assure you ill remedy all this myself!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

p.s. the stupid part of all this is I swore I could see the arrow doing this in flight when shooting from day 1 BUT ASSUMED it was just me cause it shot decent I never had a bow and I ASSUMED I couldn't shoot any better........NEVER ASSUME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

Yea, never assume. You can get decent arrow flight with field tips but that can change quickly with broadheads also.

Yeah I had my Rage Stage 2.0+ practice tip ready to test after the field tip BUT I obviously never got that far..........I did get the bottom of the D-loop taken loose the top loosened then raised a bit and the bottom back on and & the whole thing tight again.......... then raised my rest back up for a new test day tomorrow........BET!!!!!:sunglasses:

found some other older posts where people say QAD says the ULTRA REST at least on my bow is supposed have the nock set 1/8 inch or so higher then a regular nock setting.........when I checked my arrow to string square after I had corrected the tear all I could during the paper tune before running out of adjustment I then could see a I had downward arrow lean and thought that cant be right..........now as I research old 2012 threads & posts for my particular bow with the QAD rest I'm seeing that what I was correcting on paper and could see helping is actually recommended from QAD according to these older threads........it also makes sense that my bow was correcting the way these other posts stated it should have been set up in the first place...........so again my PRO blew it and I been shooting this thing like this for 5 years in the yard......I think I'm gonna get it though BINGO DINGO!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

spent several hours last night reviewing my QAD rest and I noticed when in the set arrow position the arrow rest is slightly canted forward then upon full draw comes all the way back to the set marks on the QAD before release.........perfect...........what isn't perfect and I needed cheater glasses on to see is that when the arrow is rested in the QAD cradle its in a set position & as soon as u start back with the bow string hence pulling the QAD string attachment then pulling the arrow rest it moved up & down..............its only thousandths BUT if it does it upon draw then it does it upon release.........took me a few hours of emery cloth a screw driver and some patience but I massaged the arrow rest U so there is now very little up & down action of the arrow at the rest any longer when drawn or the least all I could get out as late as I stayed up messing with it...........if I started @ .003 thousandths movement up & down i was able to reduce it down to .001 before I quit............this up & down has to effect flight even though u cant see it with the naked eye unless u go looking for it............either way its NEW DAY I'm still breathing so were gonna get this thing working properly..............BET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

called QAD this morning to confirm that the supposed PRO that set up my bow kept my set up DVD which he must have never reviewed himself and the OTHER LOWER TLW arrow shelf.............he probably sold the stuff...........hahahahahahahaha.............this actually makes me mad BUT I'm glad ive figured it out on my own & called to confirm with QAD what I thought the issue was what I was doing to rectify that and they confirmed.............QAD was VERY HELPFUL is sending me the set up DVD & the lower arrow hold for free.......... u know the stuff I paid for & my PRO dealer kept:rolleyes:..............im getting closer to the right answer........BINGO DINGO!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

packing went from a NO FUN to a DREAM:hearteyes:................had to leave the call mounted decoy off the Shockwave and go with the stand alone Fox Jack for the best overall fitment of the gear which isn't a problem at all....:grinning:

1) Guidos w/safety gear
2) Shockwave no decoy
3) Fox Jack decoy
4) Extra long additional tree cable for Lone Wolf
5) Gun/Bow rope pull up

YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

Huge improvement!

Sent from my Galaxy S8.

Thx friend........... its exactly what I envisioned before the purchase so I'm happy & I got all day today to play with it...........I can also envision why people are gravitating to the Aero Kestrel with that style of ropes and such but the Guidos is the same style safety gear as the Summit safety gear material and I handled it just fine with that unit.............this should be a breeze packing for me as I'm 5' 11"/180 so I can get around ok & this set up should ROCK SOCKS for me personally!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

took the Guidos over to my test patch in the back yard walked up to the tree with all the shrubbery just like I may have to do in the woods & got 12 ft in 8 minutes from stepping up to the tree & I'm good with that for my first time............woods scenario I'm giving myself 10/15 minutes to include bringing up the FIRE STICK or STICK SLINGER and as far as I'm concerned that's gonna work great................im HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

had some line & a cheap aluminum carabiner so I dusted it up added the safety line to the foot hold & tied it in this spot so it always makes the foot hold swing back towards the tree if it leaves my feet ILO of just hanging if tied at the back of the foot hold.....it could eventually wear the line here but ill take that and just keep it checked......BINGO DINGO!!!!!!!:sunglasses:

well I watched this guy use the setup im using to climb with ease but I couldn't see his foot attachment and guessed...............this feels very tight & is less bulk as well in the pack.......... weight diff is meaningless but the bungee may just b the ticket......I also made up a mock scrape right along the path u can barely see in my pic in the post before this one & ill find out tomorrow if anything visited it or not..BINGO DINGO!!!!!!!!!:sunglasses:
