Glad you guys didn’t get caught in the big marsh fire!!!!

Supposedly it had 50 foot flames. Dan said that island it burned up is the spot he almost took us to that day.

I haven’t taken many pictures, but I learned I have no problem spotting beds in marsh country.....

Also, for all the guys on the beast making fun of us Texas guys not being able to find hair in a bed..... I couldn’t miss it if they had as much in them as they do in Wisconsin!!!

They aren't all that obvious it they sure are in some of those marsh areas. Even Dan said he thinks Marshes are some of the easiest areas to hunt because their beds and their travel routes are more obvious.

It was a great 3 days.... Dan as expected is a great guy and fun to hang out with. I do have to widen up to the WI terminology line wedgie, clippers, skid marks, hoggin, don't step there, etc.......

Hmm, not sure I'm up on all that myself. May be Dan-isms.

Ya, we drove a couple hours west into some hill country yesterday and it was much more subtle. Still a LOT more obvious than back home, but not like those marsh beds.

Wedgies- are the mud that gets stuck between a bucks toes, you sometimes find them in beds.

Skid marks - some deer were crossing a man made bridge and left skid marks everywhere they slipped

Clippers- where toes clip logs or limbs as they go over them, leaving a wear mark or scrape

Hoggin- goin to a bar and the guy who “tags” the ugliest/fattest chick wins

Don’t step there- what dan says immediately AFTER you sink over your boots in swamp muck.

Cool. He has a DVD on hill country. He said this summer he's coming out with his farmland DVD.

Only hogging I know is with a bow and bovine.... most be a croc wearer thing?

Did you get to see his climbing sticks?

I was really impressed with the sticks. I think he said he will be posting something more specific about them soon. For sale soon, and shipped before season is what he said he is thinking.
He had an earlier prototype of the seat of his stand that was wicked looking. @DaveT1963 pointed out that it would make a great saddle platform.
