Hey all! I’m a noob to hunting in general, not just saddle hunting. I’ve been with people a few times, but never taken it on myself. I am starting this fall. Plenty of fishing and camping experience as well as shooting and archery.
Joined SH, as I like to do my research. I plan to mainly ground hunt this year as I learn and get some money saved up for a next year. I have a couple acres that I’ll be allowed to hunt, and I plan to do some public camp/hunts as well. If any KY folks wanna show a guy the ropes, I surely wouldn’t be opposed to it.

Welcome!
I live about an hour south of you. I'm only in Kentucky 3 years now, so I'm still very much learning, too. I feel a lot better going into this season, spring scouting helped me understand the terrain a lot better. These hills are way different than the marshes and farm plots of SE Michigan I learned on, lol!

Good luck with the adventure!

Welcome to saddle hunting.

I’m also located in central Kentucky (Georgetown)

I grew up in southeastern KY, so I’m familiar with the terrain, just not with deer habits! I’ve got a lot of learning to do. Good luck this season, only a month a a day away!

Thanks! If you have any public places you recommend, I’d appreciate it! As of now, I’m looking at places near RRG in the Daniel Boone. I camp there a few times a year and have seen plenty of deer (usually just their eyes at night) in the actual Gorge itself.

Welcome from Wentzville Missouri! Welcome to the hunting and saddle community.
