High wind

High wind=less hunters in the woods=bucks more comfortable. Just a theory.
High wind = bucks that can't hear trucks, atvs, human noises before human enter the woods and the deer can't hear humans as they enter the woods.
Learned this while I was a member of a dog running hunting club.
Theory.....I don't think deer are more comfortable with the higher winds, I think they are just not sure about what they are hearing and not sure how to react = spooky deer.

My Theory

Are you guys just hunting your normal sites?
Yes...but I also like hunting ridge tops....reason....constant wind direction and the deer that are traveling the down wind ridge sides, will most likely not smell you cause your wind will mostly stay above their noses. You don't have to get as high and fight the swing affect of the saddle.
Other area is a river bottom......reason.....flat land has a more constant wind, but you had better keep your nose to the wind cause anything down wind will bust you.

Biggest buck I ever killed was in 20mph gusty winds. They move slower, but man you can almost get into their bedrooms in those conditions. Plus swinging in the saddle appears more natural than hanging onto a lock on or climber for "deer" life!!!

Well you guys have talked me into hitting the swamp on the next windy day. I think the wind will be the only way I will be able to sneak into it without blowing them all out of there.
