Hitch cord for sticht on Canyon C-IV 9mm rope

lol 5 wraps with the 7mm and keep it all tight, you’ll be happy as a clam in sand.
Ask Santa for some other cord materials and play with them. I feel like I’m ordering new cord every couple of weeks just to pfutz with the same setup, but I keep coming back to the 7mm for this hitch.
Yeah we'll see where we land with the stuff I ordered. I do NOT like tinkering, I like to do enough research to figure out where state of the art meets my budget and then run that into the ground til I see a glaring problem or need to replace wear items. I am excited to try out this hitch though. I read every page of the friction hitch thread and this seemed to be the most compact hitch that did everything I wanted.

Tying hitches gives me something to do in the tree but you’re right, fiddling too much is an issue. That’s why I keep coming back to the same setup. I’m new to rappelling so I’m just now dialing it in where I like everything. This seems to be the sweet spot for me personally. I did not like TRC for this hitch but really liked it for the Agile and Klemheist. I keep like 4 or 5 different diameters of cord on/around my saddle at all times and use them for various hitches/applications.

A different way of tying the stopper helps a lot to keep it from slipping. The 7mm VT cord doesn’t need to be tied overly tight either, another bonus is it is less fiddley to tie. The legs go back through the ring on the bottom, and then a Simple Hitch is tied, and then an overhand to secure it. The Simple Hitch doesn’t wedge into the rope like the Overhand does if used alone. It tends as easily as the last method.
