Has anyone tried making a horizontal rub setup like what Ted Miller does, especially on public land? Were you successful?
 
I put one out last spring and already have bucks rubbing it. I attached it to a tree they were already using so I don’t know how scientific my approach was. Mine seems to be a little higher than Teds but it’s working.

Was it spring of 2023? What kind of tree did you use? He claims you need a scotch pine and you should put it out beginning of October.
 
Yes this past spring. We don’t have any pines on my property so I put it on a tree that was being used already. Not sure what kind it was. I had video a couple weeks ago of a small buck rubbing it. He wasn’t being very aggressive just kinda like he was using it to scratch an itch. IDK what he was up to
