I'm just starting to research what is needed to make venison hot dogs. Anyone making their own? What are you using? Any recommendations for a beginner?

I get mine from a deer processor. He makes pepper cheese with jalapenos, chili and cheese, regular cheese and regular dogs. All of them are awesome.

I used to do the same. Problem is they've gone from 2.50 a pound to 4.75 a pound. I'm hopeful that next year I'll be set up to make my own.

With two young kids, I'd rather feed them venison hotdogs than who knows what's in them from the store.

The butcher I go to just bought a grinder for hot dogs. It was pretty expensive and he said it was very important the meat came out in almost liquid form.

It's usually mixed from what I've gathered. But I really don't know much other than I want to do it.

C'mon guys....you know whats in hotdogs ... didn't you see the movie
"The Great Outdoors" with John Candy..?
Lips and @! $h○\_es....

Found a link for Elk dogs. Just substitute venison. Seems they sell a kit for this.
