How did you find the site?

You should have rode down to Pigmageddon with me!

Got 2 boys ages 1 and 2. It may be a while before I can leave momma alone with then for a while. I'd feel guilty.

I'll pitch the idea to her next year though.

I emailed John Eberhart a few questions after reading one of his books. His book had inspired me to move to saddle hunting because I hated ladder stands. With my size they were so limiting because I couldn't turn at all. I also only had public ground to hunt at the time and in Arkansas we are required to move a stand on public ground every 7 days.

So I emailed John and was actually surprised he emailed me back and fairly quickly. That tells me a lot about what kind of guy he is. He referred me to this site. Shortly after I was purchasing an Aero from @Erniepower last Feb. Now here we are.

Thanks for the site. It really is awesome. While I know I could benefit from Archery Talk, what little I've seen tells me I can't stand all the bickering and arguing that goes on there.

I guess I will be known as the new guy reviving old threads ....
I bought a TL saddle on ebay, and in my search for instructions and information, I found this forum. Really has made moving to the saddle a much easier and encouraging adventure for me. So thank you.

The way I found this thread was ... I was wondering if there was a donation to the site to help with the expenses of the website. Other small forums that I am on, have subscriptions or donations to help off set the costs. I was hoping to find something along those lines to show my appreciation for all the work you do (also this can be used to keep the advertisements off forums, as that is one way to raise $ for operating cost, like AT). So if something like this currently exists please point me in the right direction :)
Thanks for the offer. For the time being I am ok with everything although that could change in the future. This is site is a labor of love for me so I really don't mind.

Could always markup the sales of the gear from the store just a tad to account for operating expenses... i doubt many guys would mind paying an extra buck or two if it went towards running the site.

Random luck. There is very little on saddle hunting and not sure what search led me here, but I was like......"whoa this is what i'm looking for". I think some exposure on big buck registry or wired to hunt would be a great idea. Also nine finger chronicles wrote a gear review on the aero a couple months back. that would be a good exposure piece as well.

I was looking for Ameristep ratchet steps and came across the forum. Now I'm glad I did as I really love hunting outta my tree saddles. I have two; an original leather one and a neoprene. Hadn't had them out for several years so I'll be dusting them off soon!

Welcome to the site!

This site was referenced on a thread on The Michigan Sportsmen's Forum. Great info here for sure!

After reading John's books I was like "what the heck is a saddle". I reached out to john to find a trophyline and then stubled onto newtribe and then found all of you lol!! Since then i have fully committed to the saddle and have dumped all other methods of elevated hunting.

I was talking with the owner of stepp ladder by wild edge inc. and he highly recommended me to join this site. Really glad I did being there is such a wealth of knowledge here and everyone seems very friendly and helpful.

I really wanted to get into saddle hunting this year. So a couple months ago I started looking for info. I'm a DIY guy at heart, so wanted to see what my options were from other people out there. A short google search and I found this forum. It answered all my questions and then some! A lot of great info here!

So far I have keep the price down. I had the sticks already, I use to hunt from sticks and lock on stand for my mobile setup. So the only thing I bought so far is rope and a sit and drag, I think I have less then $50 into it. But as I start hunting in it this season and start liking it more, I see this getting very expensive! Haha

My first recommendation for something to purchase would be a Ropeman 1 ascender. They are a bit pricey, but are unbeatable as far as usability. I have 2 on my setup and would never go. Ack to a prussic.
