(Inexpensive) Indoor hobies?

In my before kids years we used to sit in my shop at night and play with rock crawler rc trucks. Many beers and laughs. Building a rc rock crawling course can be made from just about anything. Cheap hobby unless your competitive like me and have to have the best of the bunch.

If your artistic go buy a wood burner and start making signs on pine boards.

Brew your own beer so you can enjoy it after hunting season.

Build a homemade forge and create your own knives.

Buy an ant farm and watch.

Pull out last year's left over venison and make some summer sausage.

Get a smoker and do some briskets.

Pull out the old lawn mower and rebuild the carb so the dang thing runs right.

Compete the honey do list so she let's you go hunting more often.

Figure out a way to make some extra hunting money on line.

Get a cheap silk screen set up and make your own t-shirts.

Cruise craigslist and find some stuff to flip and make money on.

Have two young kids and find out you don't have time to have hobbies.

That last one is a killer! I've got 3 boys 2 of which got pretty heavy into sports last season, and it put a serious halt on my deer hunting!

Love to flyfish. Only tie periodically for trips. But you are exactly right

Ant farm! That is my favorite! I had one of those when I was little. You have put a lot of thought into this.
 
PAracord is fun. I be been doing it for a few years. Gun slings, bow slings, bino straps, totes, bracelets necklaces. Possibilities are almost endless
 
Video games. I'm super addicted to Battlefield 1 on PS4 right now.

Yeah I know that doesn't sound very outdoorsman-like but what the hell else am I supposed to do at 9pm after the wife and kids are in bed? It's not like I can run power tools or shoot things in the basement.

The other option is to get a freelance gig and have that eat up the rest of your spare time. Lord knows I can squeeze 12-16 hrs a week burning the midnight oil easy. The extra money is nice but I do suffer for it.

Another idea is to get a head start on your cyber scouting. That's cheap if not free. I usually lose an hour or two planning routes for already scouted spots and adding POIs to my gps for future scouting excursions.

That's a good one. I am always cyber scouting so I have new spots to check out. Plus it's easier to squeeze some cyber scouting into the schedule.
