Input wanted for the next Aero Hunter model

I also wanted to ad for all the sit drag saddlers that the top half of the tengu is the ultimate sit drag ( 6000 lb working load ) and you can detach and reattach the bottom half as needed easily. No sewing lol

You will never see an aerohunter without leg straps for safety reasons. It is the same reason the guido's web has them and the reason that TMA made trophyline put the useless leg straps on the tree saddle. Now I am pretty sure we are going to see a version with buckles that will allow easier access into the saddle and hopefully solve most peoples issues with the leg straps.
^ This guy knows what he is talking about.
We are here to make safe hunting saddles, we will never compromise safety or leave off any safety feature. Our saddles are designed to be used at hunting heights, sitdrags are made for ground level, hints why there is no safety built into them. We are trying to make those safety features more friendly for hunters.
Personally, I don't use the QR buckles, we had tremendous request for this feature, so it is being added.

Thanks,
Boswell

Im all about safety too , if everyone wants leg buckles thats great. I only have the tengu to compare too and those leg buckles leave a lot to be desired. Im not a sit drag guy ( I dont trust it for safety reasons ) but I know there is a lot of guys on here that do. But the sit drag comment was an after thought... You have a great product ( aerohunter)and my main input is about the leg straps which has an easy remedy. Keep the product the same but have the main strap that the paws attach to go under your butt instead of around the waist , ( of course you will have to beef up the fabric the strap attaches to )then the leg straps wont ride up your crotch and you will have the same safety you have developed... do that and I will buy another aerohunter :)

I have no preference on the buckles as long as they are quiet when moving. I'm excited to see the final product. I hope I want to buy one.

I just hunt ... I use the tengu for setting up my trees. It is made heavy duty without all the metal of an arborist saddle. If you are a sitter and not a leaner while hunting , the tengu ( for
me ) is very comfortable and you do not need a bridge. BUT if you are a leaner while hunting don't bother , your boys will suffer lol

Can you post a pic of the tengu? I am a sitter for sure!

Hi Noxninja , here is the link to where I bought the tengu , you will see a couple of great pictures there. It is great for setting up tree's and is half the price of the aerohunter but I would get the aerohunter for hunting... its just a much better product for hunting and for comfort the aerohunter is way superior.

Is this still planned for a summer release and any chance we'll get a sneak peak? I have the first two generations so I have a feeling I'm going to need this one too.

Yes, still hoping for July release. Once we get everything finalized I will see what I can do.
It looks like we are going with the Quick buckles. We are working on sourcing some new fabric, so right now that might be the biggest delay.

Thanks,
Boswell

I personally think the addition of buckles for the leg straps is kind of a silly idea. I am typically all about upgrades, but this one makes no sense to me. For safety I would rather have them hard lined to the harness ( not to mention those who will disconnect them while 30 feet up to be "comfortable and risk falling), for stealth sake I feel that by adding more metal-to-metal connections will add even more unwanted noise ;defeating the whole purpose of the advances thus far on this saddle for stealth ,and finally are you really that afraid of getting a little mud on your harness. Just saying

I agree with this.

Hi Boswell ,
I have a question for you , I took the leg straps that attach to the aerohunter between your legs on the flaps and unrouted them from the paws to running them just over your leg and back into the buckle forming a loop for each leg. To me ,it seems to have the same safety factor and at least for me solves the legs straps running up the crotch. Just curious on your input and maybe this will help a few other aerohunter users.

My leg straps never had any pressure on them, so I never had the problem. They were basically just like you described but mine ran though the bridge to help them stay open.

I am not sure of the price yet, that will be decided last once we have all the features, such as fabric, buckles and rope (possible spliced eye) figured out. We are looking to do a few different things. I am thinking it should less than the current model, I don't know how much though.

Thanks,
Boswell

Just make sure the parts are interchangeable. Saddle hunters like to tinker and I'm sure there will be a fair number of hybrids between the two models.

;)

I have been hanging from the evo for 2 years and love it..Looking forward to the new one as I will more than likely make the purchase as soon as it is released.I dont get the desire for the detachable leg straps. If the straps are an integral part of the overall safety of the saddle then why would this be considered an improvement? Only increases the chance of human error.

Any changes that are made I hope will reflect a reduction of weight, an increase of comfort, and or an increase in the level of safety the saddle provides..

I would love to see a change of the camo color and pattern..Lighter color and open pattern..I am also in favor of a new buckle on the waist belt which is more durable and less likely to be disengaged accidentlally. This hasnt happened to me while in the field but it isnt hard to do..

Chad

I also agree with a change, or variations for that matter, of camo patterns. The current one is too dark and could use some light accents.

I personally don't use the QR leg straps but they were by far the most requested feature, so we have added them. The buckles are rate for 2,600 lbs, no safety has been compromised just increased ease to put on.

We have reduced weight a fair amount, comfort is better because of the less bulk, we are replacing waist buckle with same buckle as leg straps just bigger.

Camo is where we are being held up currently. We are having issues getting samples from two manufacturers, so that is holding us up. We are also going with alternating webbing colors, not all back.

Thanks,
Boswell

Thankyou very much for the info Boswell. Any and all tid bits of info related to the new saddle is appreciated.. I imagine a lot of guys thinking about purchasing a new saddle are on a holding pattern awaiting the full details on the new one.

Chad
