My 2 mass deer . The second one I’m standing next to dressed 198 lbs
Heck yeah bud they are beasts. Welcome to the rabbit whole that is saddle hunting. This is my 3 season and 5th saddle and I don't even want to think about how many climbing methods. I think I'm finally satisfied with the dryad drey...... for now.

So you have to climb up , set your tethr tie in on your bridge , move that step then Repeat untill 20 or more feet high . Seems like a lot more work then just carrying 3-4 2 lb sticks … I plan to use the muddy pro sticks this season. Love the rope cam lock , I’ll simply be walking in with my saddle on , bow in hand and my sticks strapped to my backpack . Can use the pro sticks in the dark with no light , carry in3 sticks and a moveable aider I’ll be over 20’ in under 10 minutes silently in the dark . I don’t understand the advantages of one stepping yet

Just shaving ounces brother lol. I used 3-4 30" sticks most of last year. Then got bit by the one stick n rappel bug. Like I said never-ending rabbit hole.

It's really no more work than setting 3 to 4 sticks once u get the hang of it. Most of the time n 4 moves I'm to hunting hight. Then I'm down n seconds and you get to feel like batman when doing it.

I started saddle huntin' with spurs and a platform.
Got into one-sticking and rappelling, I love it!
Bought a set of sticks just to have - tried them twice and they are wayy more fuss than one-sticking for me.

Well before moving to the saddle side , I was a mobile hunter with a lone wolf climber and mobile stands milenium m7 and a set of m250 sticks . I’ve very comfortable hanging sticks quietly and quickly and now upgrading to the pro sticks I think I’ll be even quicker and quieter

3 sets...

Woops.
I misread that. I thought you asked if I still had them...

I do tree work here and there. I have for years.

Ok, just curious if you still use them on private land or anything. I've been eyeing them awhile, they seem simple enough and quick to get up a tree, but are a little salty to buy just to try. what brand do you have? do you recommend them for private land?

I have 2 pair of Kleins and a pair of aluminum Bashlins.
Like I said, I've been using them for years so I can climb up a 'decent' tree as fast as I can walk a normal pace.
If I wasn't one-sticking I'd be hunting with them.

I had the same thoughts on one sticking... then I tried it and honestly I think it’s quieter quicker safer and easier plus it’s a fraction of the weight! Also rappelling makes it worth every second! After all we’re all just big kids who like to have fun
