Boys I just about got smashed yesterday going in the woods at 2pm. I crossed a bean field and was just looking for a tree in a new spot but area I have hunted before when I see a doe loping toward the field. I drop my sticks to ready for a shot and I see shes headed back the other way. Im assuming she seen me though I didn't know how she could have.
I get my sticks take a few steps and here comes a pretty nice ten dead at me. I get him to stop but hes behind a tree at 15 yards. He turns back the way the doe went grunting the whole way. I hear some more coming and theres 4 more bucks coming all grunting and bleating and they are ROLLING right at me. 3 dinks and another decent deer. It sounded like a pig farm!
All 4 came by within 15 yards and all oblivious to my existence. They go the way of the other deer so I find the nearest suitable tree and up I go. Im halfway up and one of the culprits comes back by tongue hanging out. I snapped a few pics of him. The first buck was nicer for sure though.
Almost got a shot at a turkey about an hour later. Never seen another deer lol.
