Kayak Help.....

Look into a Tegris by Native Watercraft. Light, 29 lbs. made of kevlar.

for any bass guys....after selling my bass boat a few years ago and downsizing to a paddle kayak (due to storage and general upkeep/gas costs) I began to lose heart and started selling my bass arsenal...trying to adapt to crappie or small mouth floats

On a whim I bought a pedal yak last year...and now I'm fishing tourneys again (tourneyx format which actually seems like future of bass tournaments...awesome) Anyways if you are into bass fishing and going to spend a grand or more anyhow, check out a peddle yak....Its like I'm back on that trolling motor around structure now....and my three year old 1000 dollar paddle yak is extremely obsolete.

I have a predator PDL and I cant speak for the hobies, but prop pedal yaks are a night and day game changer compared to paddling when you are picking apart structure.

I cannot use a boat for deer hunting and or transporting a deer. It is prohibited by VA.

I assume this all goes back to the King & Queen laws in Virginia. You have riparian and non-riparian rights/laws in Virginia.
I never knew it was prohibited. I know we can't shoot from a boat but not transport?

yeah I'm fairly certain its just shooting from a boat. As long as the deer was legally harvested what difference does it make how you take it home?

I was told in a hunter safety class for one of my children and the question came up of transporting a deer. The warden said that he did not differentiate between hunting and transportation. It seems the game laws are very subjective to the individual warden in VA. I I would ask your local warden or a warden where you plan on hunting. There are places in VA where a boat comes in handy to get a deer out and or transport Hunters.

So anytime you have a gun in the truck, youre hunting from the truck in this warden's eyes

I don't think your going to find anything written where it says its illegal to transport a harvested deer by boat...meaning theres nothing he can write you a ticket for

I agree with you that it made no sense. I made a point of talking with the warden during a break for clarification and he prett much repeated himself.

To me a navigable water way is no different than driving down the street.

It makes no sense because hes wrong. Ive had to accustom or refresh vdgif officers on rules numerous times...politely of course;)

I watched another time in a class for my oldest, a warden & local Sherriff Officer got into a heated argument as to who has to had jurisdiction.

I intervened and politely reminded them they are supposed to be role models for the youth taking the course. Same cop and warden in another class pulled the same idiotic behavior with a neighbor as he was taking the course with his son.

Found my water access solution...
