Kestrel bridge as second lineman belt?

I think it's personal preference. I like a shorter bridge because I don't need to have my tether 3 feet above my head. I like to have my tether at forehead level. The shorter bridge slides through the carabiner better so I can twist around better. I think Boswell uses it at stock length and he obviously does just fine with it. It's easy to make it adjustable or shorter so I wouldn't make the bridge length a deal breaker on getting a kestrel. I actually like the side benefit of having an extra linemans belt by making the stock bridge adjustable.

Most people like a bridge in between 24and 30” it’s personal and has to do with comfort hip pinch. No
t sure what it comes as but I shortnd mine to about 28 but haven't decided thats where it will stay yet. Best thing to do is make it adjustable till you have found your happy place. Then tie it there. When I get home I think I'm going to make a whoopie sling out of amsteel and replace stock bridge. But im never happy and always trying something different. When you get it play with it at ground level and adjust it to different length's and slide your tether up and down the tree till it feels right for you. Everyone's different.

I got the tree squeeze today. I can see I need a close end loop on the linesman belt to make the tree squeeze removable. That way I can use the original linesman belt as both as a second bridge and the truss rope with the tree squeeze. I am not going to try and splice an end loop. (My brothers can do this but I do not have the knowledge.). A figure 8 will go through the larger O ring but not the smaller end. On the other end I want to keep the ropeman.

Take some pics when you get it set up :D
I really like the idea and have started tinkering with a DIY version with less hardware.

I think Bass Boy was suggesting using a lonewolf strap if not mistaken. I like the idea of being tied in. Just more gear to carry.

Yep. Works greats and always there if you use it for your platform.

I may look at that as well. More cost effective and pretty much does the same thing as I won’t be using it as a friction saver or with a hoist

I'm sure there is a better diy option. Having a simple belt for adjustment is nice.

What did I miss? How does a lone wolf strap compare to the tree squeeze?
