Like many of you. I have purchased kitchen Utensils that work well, and others that flat out stink or start out good and fade fast. I'm talking more about the every day things like tongs, spatulas, or cheese graders. Making a place to talk about great pieces of kitchen equipment that exceed your expectations or maybe ones that didn't do no else trust them.
I'm in need of a new cheese grader and peeler personally. Maybe something else if anyone has so super good items that have picked up.

I can recommend a peeler that will cut the tip of your finger off, straight through the fingernail and bone, cauterization required. But maybe that’s not the best play.

One that surprised me for the better, after several more expensive options, is the FreshForce juicer(s) by Chef’n.

I don’t buy the kitchen gear but cook more than my share. I can go on and on about overpriced trash in this sector.

Get yourself a fish spatula if you don't have one already. And if you're lefty like me, get a left handed one. It's a flipping game changer lol.

Unashamed OXO fanboy here. I have lots of other stuff accumulated over the years too but usually their version is the best.

Like anything else I usually look for wood and metal and to avoid plastification to the extent possible. Then it's into looking at washability and ergonomics.

I really like the old OXO garlic press with the silicone grid plunger.

Have had others like their new model, it’s a step backwards imo.

Can’t say they are the best of all, but I’m pretty happy with sheet pans by Nordic Ware. They don’t warp badly under high heat.

I have a bunch of micro planes that I use often. (The knock offs probably work as well, idk.) But they are handy and see a lot of use.

Also, a turner spatula with a silicone head is the bomb for cooking eggs. Egg proteins stick to the others and you gotta soak them to clean them more easily, or scrape the edges. Not a problem with silicone.

If I had to give a nod to one brand, Zwilling/Henckels has been solid across the board. I’m sure they must have some duds too, just I haven’t had those. Their stuff can be had at killer sales prices oftentimes.

Some of the most used stuff we have we don’t even know the brand, some of the most recognizable labels sit in cabinets and drawers all the time.

Not necessarily a utensil but Victorinox butcher knives. A bit pricy but you’ll most likely pass them down to your children. I know butchers that have had the same set for 20 years.

I love their measuring cups. Recently had the handle break on one. Contacted their warranty department, and had a very painless replacement process. All they asked for was a picture of the broken cup. Within a week a had a brand new one.

I cant get by without a good set of knives, and I also enjoy the slap chop thing. To venture away from utensils a bit into "equipment", my kitchenaid stand mixer has been a "game changer" lol.
