Light weight saddle

Great review Shaun, keep the ideas coming. I agree the loops could be better. I gave them 6 or so options when I should have stated how I wanted them. I dont see us getting a camo option, sorry.

Tracking number shows the second one is "out for delivery".

This is my favorite all around saddle now and for sure the best lightweight minimalist saddle I've been in.

Sweet!!! I am happy I didn't wait for that review to buy mine. I have to go hang some sticks in the yard so I can play around with mine this weekend.

I think you're gonna like this one. Maybe you can add some things to my review, as I'll try to do the next time I get to play around with it. So far, I have very few complaints. The loops are the only real improvement I could suggest so far, and they're not bad- just I think I'd like them to be bigger and stiffer

Since I have only hunted out of a Guido's Web and tested John's Saddle, I'm not the best resource.

But maybe I can ask a dumb question or two to help. I may hunt this weekend (an event this Sat got cancelled)... And then there is that football game on Sunday... Go Broncos! But I imagine I will get some time in it this weekend for at least a first impression.

Well its no guidos web, never tried one but can confidently say it wont be as comfy. I would be curious to hear how it compares to Johns though.

Broncos! ??? And I thought you were an ok guy.
If I had a tv I'd be watching my Panthers win. I gUess I'll just have to listen to everybody tell me what a great game I missed, just like all college football season. I used to work at Clemson university and don't live too far from there now.
My dad and part of my family live in Charlotte still. So I'm required by law to be a panther fan

Got it, but it's dark out so no tree time.

I tried it on... perfect fit for my 29.5" waist... ;)

It is exactly what I wanted... Again my limited experience can't tell you that I want what I... uh want.

But its light weight, heavy buckle. Solid. Small and spins up nice for packing. Seems to sit right where I expected when I strap in. I feel safe in it for sure. The loops seem to be in the right spot.

I would say that I'm sensitive to the loops being stiff - the ones on my Web are stiff and I like that but these are larger and seem stiff enough. I think I will actually prefer them based on that balance.
I will say that a Molle set up would be cool but not what I bought this for. It was intended to be minimal. If there is an order for another round that includes a Molle loop option I may get them on that. But I'm glad I got this one just as it is. Really cool.

I will give a better review with pics when I can get outside.

It really is an impressive little saddle isn't it? I like it way more in person than I did in the pics. That's saying something too, considering we shelled out moolah for it based on pics. There's very little I see that needs improving.

I was taking the "Ken super sling" out for another test drive and made a couple videos. This one is a minute or so long and taken with my phone once I climbed up. The other video taken with my tablet sitting beside my target has to be edited down to eliminate all the dead time while I walk, tie gear to rope, put on spurs, etc. I will post the second video which shows me climbing and shooting later tonight or tomorrow. For now, here is a brief clip in the saddle

Thanks. I have really worked on that. I taught myself that a while back. It's strange that i shoot better left handed than right even though I'm legally blind in my left eye. Strictly instinct, and knowing trajectory of arrow, subconscious programming and muscle memory let me shoot with both hands. It was a lot of trial and error until i just trusted my brain to put the arrow where i want it. Helped me not to"aim"right handed too. There's another video of me doing that from the ground somewhere in this thread I think.
I had to edit so much out of video because all I have is a phone and a tablet to record from. So I ended up editing out most of the climbing, setting up, and descending.I edited out the last several minutes where I walked to the target beside the camera and turned it too see the grouping of the arrows too. It was only maybe sixteen feet high and twenty three yards, so it wasn't hard to shoot well in that one. Hopefully more, better, videos to come
Hopefully the camera I just ordered will help me make better videos. And I can edit them on laptop instead of kindle or phone.

Wow legally blind in one eye, impressive that you can shoot either hand so well. I always tell people Im blind in one eye, cant see out of the other, but it doesnt matter cause I close both before I shoot.

Haha .I hear ya.
Seriously, though, I used that technique (closing both eyes and just feeling how my body performed the shot sequence) to try to help me develop my form (as bad as it is, I'm usually consistent)
