Fourth Arrow carbon arm arrived yesterday. This thing is great! Packs down small and is rock solid on the tree. I have been filming ten years and used the Muddy for the last 4-5 years and this thing blows the Muddy away.

My first impressions on the arm I just received are VERY good as well.

Good to hear! You using the ratchet strap it came with or your own strap? I'm gonna sew up a custom strap with OCB buckle for mine. I tried it last night and it worked great. I think the arm will perform great!
I've tried and like both straps. I had already made one for my old arm, and it sets up just like their ratchet with a loop and buckle on one end and a strap with a loop girth hitched around the other end.

It's rock solid just like the ratchet. And since the short loop to the buckle is so stiff, it doesn't rattle around as much either.

That's exactly how mine will be set up. I also took the wrench off and tied it on a longer cord to keep inside my pack. I always hold my pack in my lap while setting up the cam gear so I will just finger tighten when I set the base and then tighten it down after I hang the pack from the base. I wasn't a fan of having the wrench hanging off the base all the time.

Glad to hear you guys are liking them!

Those straps you added look great!

As far as the tool goes, I like to leave the tool in the same hole I use to tighten the shoulder when not in use. If you prefer it to be in your pack that's great too!

Good luck this fall, and let me know if you have any questions!

What boat buckle is that one? That one looks a little more robust than the one I use on my step platform. If my platform breaks, no big deal. If my camera strap fails, I'll be extra angry.

Nevermind. I need to see it first hand. Ordering

If you would have waited a day I'd have the video review uploaded. :D

It's the 1" bow strap with SUR-grip kwik-lock buckle. 1200 pound break strength and 400 pound working load. I have another one for my climb paws. Here's the amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/BoatBuckle-Tie-D ... +bow+strap

Any updates guys? I'm getting close to pulling the trigger

Honestly haven't had much time to mess with it. I really like it from the little bit I did try it and I think it's a winner. Def much much easier to pack up than my Muddy arm. I need to add a Boatbuckle to mine but that's all it needs. The ball/socket system of leveling is awesome and it's extremely well built. I have a video review started but haven't had time to shoot the outside portions of it yet since its been 100 degrees out for the past week lol

The packed up pictures really sold me on it. I don't care much about the weight, but the volume it takes up in the pack is a big plus.

Absolutely!! I can now fit pretty much everything I film with in the main compartment of my pack. With the Muddy I could only fit the base, arm and fluid head in the main part.
