Linesman rope knot

Figure 8 but make sure you leave enough rope on the tag end, 3 rope diameters minimum, but the bight is your best bet! Also if you are going to use a ropeman or prusik on the other end make sure you tie a knot at the end of your lineman's belt so you ropeman or prusik don't slip off the end. Figure eight again.
