Yesterday had a coyote, a button buck or doe laid down about 40 yards away in the only spot I couldn't get my scope on it, a 4-6 pointer that never came in, and either a doe or this ugly scrub buck I saw last year come by too fast to do anything about. I got down from my tree at 2 and was still hunting back to the truck. Spooked a deer twice that took off down the ridge. I crept my way to edge and hung out behind a tree. Had a 6 pointer work his way up the ridge upwind of me. Had a few shot opportunities but let him pass. Then had a few does move through but they were on the move.

I posted this in the platform thread too but be careful where your fingers are when setting up a platform. I cammed my Ernie platform over my right pinky finger. I though I was going to have to get down if the bleeding didn't stop. Went through all layers of skin and could see different tissue.

Ouch, maybe I don't want one of those platforms!

Evening sit today, had some thick brush/trees right behind me and thought I heard some movement, but never saw anything, and when I was cleaning up to rappel out, I made a little noise and something bolted from my 4-5 O'clock from about 10 yards away, never saw it, it was pretty dark by that point, so I don't know if I would have been able to see it or even shoot it, def got my heart moving!

Where are you in Ga. Eric???
Sorry poor cell reception. @huck72412 I live in Fitzgerald but every where I have hunted this year has been an hour or more drive. I was at Flint River wma. It’s in Dooly County. It was a great hunt as far as seeing deer. Saw deer on every hunt. I thought people were there to kill a big buck but many shot the first legal buck they saw. One of the guys camping next to me took a solid 140” class 8 point yesterday afternoon. I heard of one more nice one. The rest barely met the 15” spread or 16 inch main beam requirement. One guy shot a heavy six point with about a 16 inch spread. I kind of have a soft spot for big six points.

You definitely want one. Just don't put your hand in between the bolt and the post!

Seems like a no brainer but hanging in a tree in the dark can make things a little more challenging. I was using that hand to brace the platform while I got my stepp knot right. I actually didn't think it was going to cam over. Solid as a rock from 6:15 until 2 when I got down.

Dooly County, aha!!!!!! One of the best.

Poor reception last night but the kestrel got another one.

That makes my deer hunting a clean sweep. Four deer in four states. Now if my good buddy and local boar guide can get me on some pigs....

The pressure is on @g2outdoors

Nice! I'll make sure those pigs are tied to trees.

Sat 11-dark and had a doe come by 15 minutes before dark.

This evening I am taking my 5 yr old son hunting. He has been begging to go. We are set up in an old permanent stand that is just large enough for him to get his chair in and I am using my saddle as a seat. (don't worry there are short walls on the blind) We are only 6' up but it gives a nice view of some cut over. Lot of does bed in here.
