Hey yall , I am making up another 2tc system like Scott Adkins latest version and am looking for a lightweight saddle to act as a safety backup for ascent and descent. I have made a hard seat so comfort is not a concern but more like it will go along for the ride in case of a slip. Would a Treehopper recon be a consideration or stick to some kind of minimalist rock climbing harness? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I have used a Recon for two full seasons with 2tc and have been very happy with it. I use it as is without a hard seat. They are great saddles. That said, for what you are talking about with a hard seat a good rock harness would probably be fine. However, I have 2TC'd a few times in a rock harness and my experience was that it was not as comfortable a climb. It is comfortable to climb in the Recon.
