How many of you guys are using them as a saddle platform? I have one and been messing with it, but I feel like the ambush is honestly a better option. What's everyone's thoughts.

I have both and prefer the Ambush, that being said I’m not selling my .5 for those times when I prefer a stand, which isn’t much anymore.

Using LWCG sticks?
Exactly… I know where this is heading, thats the biggest reason I keep my .5 for when I use sticks, they just ride so nice on that stand. If I could only pick one it would be the .5, but I definitely use my Ambush more, because of bolts.

I used the .5 with a saddle all last season. Best combo I've found yet. Used LWCG mini's the first half the season and beast mini's the 2nd half. Selling the LWCG mini's. I think they're great, I just like the beast sticks better.

Those mini beast sticks on sale sure is tempting me.. are you strapping them on the .5 with a bungee or come up with some other creative solution, I have never tried beast sticks yet.

I use it with 4 shikar sticks. Love it. With a bino harness this also Eliminates my need for any sort of pack on most hunts

You won’t regret the mini Beast sticks. IMO anyway.

Double step sticks sure are nice to climb on. I don't think Beast Sticks are a stick you regret.

But the fold flat designs (Shikars and LWCG compacts) shine when mated to stands.

The LWCG compact sticks with cable aiders are what I use with the .5. They are rock solid on the stand when attached with J-Hooks (no need to mess around with straps or bungees) and the grommets prevent chatter. Weight is close to my back which makes for a nice carry. They have a thick step and rotating standoffs (that adjust to weird angles) with ample standoff distance. I can stand on the top step with both feet if needs be. They are rugged. I like them.

I think if I had Beast Sticks I'd want to run them two on a side, vertically. I'd be trying to exploit the circles in the stand or holes in the sticks for fastening with a rod or hook system. It's not hard to pack them well horizontally but that isn't my preference due to the increased profile.

I'm sure there's some folks out there who have figured out a good solution.

But I don't regret buying compacts either.

I use the stand strap and flip the sticks upside down to attach. I also added some camoform tape where the antler bracket contacts the seat post down by the seat for silencing and also to take up the extra space so the sticks don't tend to flop over to the side when strapped to the stand. I also added a little tape to a couple teeth of the stand where the antler bracket makes contact. I have yet to see how well that holds up. That was a post season addition. I also use a moveable aider with this setup, when needed.IMG_20211124_114715815_copy_1024x1365.jpg

Similar to how I've seen the One sticks packed vertically on a .5. You kind of lose that load shelf for pack support, but it is doing great as a stick support and shock suppressor.

Do you not run a pack?

I went all last season with just the small pouch on my seat and a hand muffler when it got cold out. I was planning on bringing a fanny pack, but never really needed it. Carried small snacks in my pockets and pouch for longer sits. I can still strap any clothes I want to on the sides or over the top of the sticks. Honestly, one of my favorite parts of the stand is the shelf capability, but not because it helps me store things. I like it because I'm fairly short and I don't feel the stand extending down to my thighs.

Looks slick! I run the thick cushion on the bottom and thin one on top just like you, I run the same setup as Plebe for sticks, I do miss my versa aider though going to a single step stick, I liked that thing it was simple and light.

I used the .5 last season as a hybrid and loved it. I received the LWCG mini sticks about 2 months ago and have used them prepping trees. The sticks are solid and the attachment and packability is awesome. I strap my saddle beneath the seat while carrying the stand and that same strap becomes my back band. I love the set up so far and really don't have anything I would change at this point.

Im using the fix and the .5 this year. Its great
Im thinking i will probably use the fix early season with my double steps and the .5 with the beast sticks.
the option to sit or lean with the .5 is gonna be pretty sweet with the saddle.
