Just received my Mystery Ranch 28 and was curious if it gets quieter after broken in? The fabric is louder than I'm used to when moving the pack around.

It does get better, it's not particularly quiet either. Fabric on fabric sounds really don't carry far at all but I can see how it would psych some people out. I have no problem getting set up 50 yards from beddded deer with a cordura pack but I also wear swishy nylon clothes from time to time and break all other sorts of rules and somehow I do pretty more than ok. However, if MR would make a fleece pack for this frame like @kyler1945 did it would be the cats titties, any little improvement in stealth helps confidence if nothing else, and sell like hotcakes to us saddle butts.

Maybe it wasn't Kyler but some son of a sewer made a real nice fleece pack for this recently on here, tag the correct person for me.

Thanks. 7-9 weeks out at Campsaver for my size. I have a %42 off coupon for MR so I prob should go through them anyway but I am still not sold on it for my needs.

Glad you found one. There is just more to be desired on the main compartment for me. How much gear/extra layers can you really get in there?

If you put a bigger bag on the pop up, you would always have the pop up deployed. Then it would be just like all their other frames. The whole point of this pack is to be very compact when not deployed.

The next couple packs in line above the pop up would make more sense if you need to shove 40lbs of gear and extra layers in EVERY hunt. If you want a compact pack that has the ability to haul 75lbs on occasion, the pop up makes more sense.

I live in the south so I usually only need to put a jacket in the pack for my layers. I try to hunt with minimal gear as well so this is perfect for me to be able to comfortably pack my sticks and platform and then to be able to pack out the entire deer (they are small down here) if I am successful.
