I've been looking at this pack pretty hard. My question is, will a predator platform fit into the kangaroo pouch on the front of the pack? Does anyone have any experience with this pack? If anyone has any pics with sticks and platform attached to the pack that would be awesome. Thanks

I had the smaller one. The face is nice and quiet but the nylon that it’s sewn over is very noisy.

I don’t suggest the camo version. I was quite surprised the black in the camo was very blue. If you get one get the wood color.

Yeah I noticed the camo did look like it had a blue tint in the pictures I've seen. Wasn't sure if was just lighting or what. Thanks

It will not fit in the kangaroo pouch however it will strap nicely in the same place. The pack has 2 straps in that area and two on the bottom of the pack which is where I keep my one stick.

I can reach around and take my stick off the pack at the base of the tree with out taking my pack off. Once I get to height I hang my bag then set my platform. With the UP on top of my stick I only use my platform if I am going to sit for more than 3-4 hrs or if the deer could come from any direction.

I have no problem with the camo in real life, I started out with the tan one however it looked too much like a deer to me which could be a problem during rifle season.

I really like this pack for saddle hunting. I find the pockets well placed and usable, I like the way it stays open in the tree. I do not pack out my animals.

Unless they made it smaller in the new gen, the Tethrd Predator (not XL) should fit the front pocket. It fit fine in the first gen pack, which was smaller at 31L.

Thanks for the replies. I have the regular predator. I'm hoping it will fit in new style treehouse.

FWIW, it is a tight fit in the first gen Treehouse. It was nice to be able to reach back and pull the platform out with the pack on my back. To replace it coming down, it was easier to swing the bag around or just clip the platform somewhere to be packed up once I was back on the ground.

It will not fit on the inside, but it straps great to the outside. I keep my kill kit drag rope and other things that I do not need in the stand in the kangaroo pouch as it is not readily available the way I hang it in the tree.

Dang... I was hoping it would slide in the pocket a little further than that. I was hoping to be able get the platform off the pack without taking it off and unstrapping it. As
4090Sharps was able to do. I am currently running the SOG pack. It carrys my tetherd one sticks and platform perfectly so that I'm able to remove them without taking the pack off at the tree. But as far as organization pockets and accessing things while hanging in the tree it's not very handy.

You could always pick up a used first gen, but you lose the nicer buckles on the straps and quieter material.

Good luck, it can be a never ending story finding the right pack. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks will do! I just placed an order for one through BlackOvis. They currently have them on sale for 179.00. We will see!

Try putting your sticks on the bottom, which you should be able to take off at the base of the tree without taking off your pack, climb to your desired height and hang your pack with a camjam then take your platform off the pack and position it. That's how I do it . If you then want to reposition your pack after you setup your platform it is no big deal with the camjam.

Good luck
