"New Age" traditional/colonial tradecraft

New idea based on the 2023 gear wish list thread.

Take a USGI or similar wool blanket which provides warmth, sew in a polyester, windbreaking liner, and create a windbreaking cloak that is warm in any weather yet can be pinned in such a fashion as to make an effective ground blind. Done right, it would be lightweight, packable, easily deployable, warm and effective.
I like a hooded capote from a heavy wool blanket. The hood seems so much warmer for me than a cap.

Local surplus store got in a bunch of nice 4#-5# 85/15 wool blankets. They’re long so I cut off 3’ which makes it a perfect length. The trimmed piece was then cut into 3 equal strips and stitched into a tube which made 2 scarves and a gun sock.
