Thoughts on uses? The only thing I can think of is an adjustable webbing tether.

I think if it had any real tightening capabilities they wouldn’t have used a ratchet on the third strap. It also looks heavy for our uses.
 
I agree. They look more like a course adjustment and locking/holding item. Not tightening. I have often wondered about those stingray tents. Why not put one up 30 foot with a rope ladder and hunt out of that!
