Trying to decide between kestrel and mantis. Looks like mantis is still a ways off from filling orders unfortunately...anyone want to chime in on things? I’m a bigger guy, ex rugby and football player, 280 lbs. have a trophyline I’m selling cause the way I hunt requires very long hikes into public and I’m all in on saddles this season. Want light weight and easy. I do all day sits come end of October through end of November. Should I wait on the mantis or pull the trigger on the kestrel? Thanks

Unless you buy used, the Kestrel is a ways out as well. Just saw this on aerohunters website.

Our road was closed and we had to evacuate due to nearby wildfires in early August. We were closed for two weeks, and this caused a big delay in our production schedule. That, and the high demand for Aero Hunter products this season, means it could be 4-6 weeks before we ship orders received today. As we catch up, we'll update this estimate. When you order, we'll email to let you know your estimated ship date.

Hard to say. I’d wait until everyone starts getting their hands on some mantis and post reviews.
Lots of us have a Kestrel so will be able to give a good comparison. The mantis is very streamline. A big sized kestrel may be better for a big guy from just comparing pics. But we won’t know for sure yet.

Greatly appreciated. Bummer for aerohunter, hope everyone is safe. Kestrel may be the answer for me I’m thinking. By the time I hear how guys like the mantis half the season will be over! Lol. Thanks again

Oh man saddle hunters can't catch a break this year! That sucks about the wild fires. Glad they didn't lose the whole shop.

Regardless of your decision I would seriously consider a rock climbing harness and a sitdrag so you can practice/hunt while you wait, like next week. You could probably do the harness and sitdrag fkd 60-80 purchased. Obviously if you are getting your tether and lineman as well as a saddle that becomes more expensive.

I think it's more important to get into a saddle with time to practice than having the perfect system after the season starts.

I appreciate the thoughts. I’m used to a saddle. I had a trophyline. Just a matter of getting used to the new set up. Ordered a kestrel last night so we’ll see when it gets here. Thanks!

Ya I am between the kestrel and mantis as well. I ordered a Mantis but now I am looking hard at the Kestrel with the ICS Buckles. I figure New Tribe has been in the industry a long time and have all the kinks worked out. Like any new startup company, I am wondering what, if any, problems the Mantis might initially have after reading all about their platform.

I ordered the kestrel the other night. Saw I made a typo in my address and called to change. Talked to Debbie, and I found out there is going to be a wait time. We talked about a few other things and I was contemplating canceling my order due to ship time. However, the customer service I received from her gave me confidence that anything I need from them will he met with the same service. I like the buckles/clips the kestrel has. There’s a great review on YouTube between the kestrel and kite. I have full confidence the kestrel is going to be a great fit. Can’t wait to get it and start customizing-
