Why do you need to remove it from the rope? Agree it would be a pain so I'm guessing I would never bother. Interesting item. Seems a bit pricey for what it is though.I posted it somewhere but it’s enough to say here that it is not as easily removable as the safe guard since you have to feed the rope through each time. Would be amazing if they we detachable from mid rope.
If you intend on repelling and you need to do a rope retrieval over branches the device needs to be removed. You would have to feed the rope out all the way, pull your retrieval dynaglide abd pull the tag end through. With that device it will not go through the quick link. Why do you need to remove it from the rope? Agree it would be a pain so I'm guessing I would never bother. Interesting item. Ah, I see. I forgot about the quick link as I abandoned those pretty quickly after struggling with rope retrieval and found JRB exploding hitches. If you intend on repelling and you need to do a rope retrieval over branches the device needs to be removed. You're braver than me. The exploding hitch is slick but I could never convince my brain to trust it to repel from 20'+. Would rather contend with retrieving the rope with a small Bolen loop tied around the rope with your pullup rope to pull the tag end back through the quick link after removing the device once on the ground.Ah, I see.
