Very true, there are some prairies because the owner runs cattle but for the most part it is crosstimbers/hardwoods. Wish me luck! needless to say, I have alot of scouting to do.

Nice updating guys. Your off season plans are much more fun than mine have been so far. I just got done moving back to western Pa from northern Va. hoping to get out and shoot some 3D this weekend and start back in my old techno hunt league this Wednesday.

You guys are killing me. I have never been a worm guy (couldn't figure out how to use them effectively). I've always thrown spinners. But after reading this forum and doing some research on senkos, I am going to have to try these this summer.

How do you like rigging them? I've heard of so many different ways. I'm not much of a worm guy either. But after watching some videos on the senko's action, I think these would be perfect for some ponds. My dad has pulled a 7 pounder out of one of his ponds already this year, but it sure would be nice to drag the 8 pounder he caught 2 years ago out of there. Nothing like beating the old man.

I'm not a huge bass fisherman but worms and spinners are my go to baits. This is probably heresy but I also love catching smallmouth on live crayfish 
I fish them Texas rigged weightless with 5/0 hooks. A lot of guys swear by the wacky rig. I fish it incredibly slow. A lot of times I'll let it sit on the bottom for 5 or 6 seconds and just twitch it.

I use Senkos myself but I also use Zoom Lizards a ton. When I go to Erie I pretty much only use lizards and slay the smallies on them! Been getting into using flukes a good bit as well and have had pretty good luck on them.

That's all we used to fish with when I was younger. My grandpa and I would walk the river and we'd catch a few small crayfish and hook them. Have always done best on crayfish and live worms (night crawlers). Never done very good on spinners or artificial lures for bass here in MI.
I have tried artificial crayfish lures but have it had much luck on them. I was told steelies and brown will hit on crayfish but never tried. I am an inland lake fisherman these days and am spoiled with easy fishing for bass and panfish. Looking forward to hitting the lake this summer!
