Has anybody seen the Chinese leather shoe patcher or tried one, was thinking about if they would work to sew a saddle.

I have one and have used it on webbing and leather for accessories but wouldn't trust my skills for anything life safety related.

They often require a lot of fiddling and setup to work well. Once they do, they are a great machine for the money from everything I've seen and read. I have no personal experience with them but I've seen people sewing leather shoes, backpacks, and all kinds of stuff with them. Definitely capable of sewing a saddle.

That's not a problem I've been fiddling with things to make them work since I was a kid. To me that's part of the fun.
