I’m in between packs as I’ve sold my MR PU38 and KUIU Venture 2300 so I last minute modified an old camo backpack I got when I first start hunting to attach to the m1 frame. For the top attachment I added two female buckles to the top of the m1, and sewed two male buckles with some 1” webbing to the pack. This used pack came with a bunch of those female buckles you can just push over an existing loop so there wasn’t much too there. I was pleased with how the bag held tight to the bottom of the frame using the backpack’s shoulder straps around it! Nothing fancy but it worked really well. The backpack drops away if I’m in need of hauling a deer. This m1 has a cargo carrier as well as compression straps. I left them underneath the bag and ran the compression straps on the out side of the bag for carrying my platform. It’s a sleek little kit that I’ll probably end up keeping after today. I was very very skeptical of the eberlstock m1 for carrying a deer, but it did exceptionally well, even without tall load lifters or anything special. Like saddles I think certain packs fit the body (hips, waist and torso) better.
