In this podcast the guest tells about a near death fall he had where he ends up inverted multiple times and finally cuts himself from his saddle/harness and falls a short distance to the ground. What is good about this one is he is telling the first had story about how he fell multiple times and how he self rescued.

Lots to think about here

Ep. 173 An Upside Down Near Death Saddle Hunt Experience with Jim Nelson

In case you haven't seen the pics, this was 100% user error. Tree with bark falling off and single step sticks with both steps on the same side of the stick. Glad he made it home, but it all could have been prevented.

Wow. Pretty sober experience. Even if it was error. Just another reminder in an instance things can turn south.

Here is a facebook link with more info.

Blurb from them:
Todays podcast is a MUST LISTEN for anyone who saddle hunts or hangs a stand. Less than two weeks ago Jim Nelson found him self in a near death situation. As he put his weight onto his top stick, it gave way, and when his lineman’s belt caught, he ended upside down. He regained control, stepped on another stick, and it also kicked out and he ended upside down again. By the grace of God and a few good choices, Jim was able to return home to his family. Today he tells the harrowing story along with some other good hunting stories.

Yeah, he states that he does not blame the sticks or the saddle and that he wanted to share it so others might take some lessons learned from it.

I have seen quite a few posts of people doubting that you can get turned upside down in a saddle and he did it multiple times which had to do with his linesman belt and not tether.

I commend him for sharing it and opening himself up to the criticism.
