Rain Suit for Hunting

I'm not sure if you mentioned a price range, but if cost is no issue and you truly want a piece of gear that will outlast everything else with a Top of the line warranty and the most important in my opinion and honestly the hardest to find quality in a rain system is something that's 100% quiet. If that's something your going for check out the Sitka Downpour Jacket. It's micro brushed exterior is dead silent and its 100% taped seams paired with GoreTex.

I don't think I could ever pay full price for it. But if I can get another good deal this year, I will definitely be picking some more pieces. I really liking the stuff.

If you aren't already keep an eye on EBay. Otherwise sites that have sitka deals are Mountain Archery.com and Kruger Farms. Kruger Farms does a annual 20% off deal from Feb-March so mark your calendar lol.

IMO you get what you pay for in rain gear....a poncho is good for just sitting (my dad would say that a poncho wasn't good for anything other than getting your "blankety blank blank" wet)

Scent blocker rain jacket and bib pants on sale at Field and Stream $115 a few years ago.

I got the Sitka Downpour too this year as an outer layer for my elk trip. I am absolutely impressed. I wish I could have afforded the pants to now!
They are awesome

If you aren't using a tree umbrella, you're missing out. Other than that, almost anything will keep me dry on the way in.
I've always used one stand hunting. How are they while saddle hunting?

An old pair of sock neoprene waders that have a small dry rot hole in the crotch, with a goretex coat and camo over the top of that. I stay warm from the wind and rain.

Same as saddle hunting except you're facing the other way......lol. Seriously, no different. Set it up on the side you're most often facing. It's actually better because you can reach up higher and screw it in with a tight tether and back off to give limb clearance for a bow.

$25 for tree umbrella, best $ you'll ever spend and worth it's weight in gold when it's needed!! Army surplus for a good raincoat for the walk in and once the umbrella is set, no more Chinese Water Torture!!!
