Saddle vs a lite hang on

Just ordered a Millenium M7 after 2 seasons of looking at them and telling myself it’s saddle or bust. Definitely not selling my saddle but excited to incorporate a stand next season.

Even though I never leave the ground without wearing my Safety Harness, I still feel safer in my Cruzr XC tree saddle.

This past season I was using my Elite Ritual 30 compound and never had any issues with my saddle or when using my Summit Viper climbing stand. However, I'll be using my Hoyt Satori next season and with the safety rail on the Summit getting in the way. I may be using the tree saddle even more than I did this past season, to keep the longer limbs clear of any tree stand parts.

I have one hang on that I leave set up for the entire season in a spot that has been good in the past. I will try different spots that have potential with my saddle. The platforms I use with the saddle are a Trophyline Mission platform(a little heavy but roomy and rock solid) and an Out on a Limb Ridge runner. Neither is lite weight but I choose to carry the extra weight for the room and comfort.

I use both. Two complete setups, working on a third.
One setup for saddle hunting.
One setup for treestand hunting.
Putting another one together for hybrid hunting.

Why choose just one?!

I set one of them up for warmer temps and the other for colder temps. Just look at the temperature, grab one and go - no need to reconfigure all the gear or clothing. 30 degrees and cold? Grab setup A. 60 degrees and sunny? Grab setup B.

Bring them with on all my in state and out of state hunts. Provides a lot of flexibility and also a nice set of backup gear.

(When I first started using a saddle, I quickly got annoyed with the time and hassle of having to switch over all the gear between using my treestand setup and saddle setup, easy solution - just have both.)
