Serrated broadheads?

Well we are getting a little off track here talking steak and bread knives comparing them to these crappy broadhead “serrations”. Completely different.

I learned my lesson on broadheads in the 70's when Browning came out with the Serpentine. It doesn't matter how sharp it is if the design is poor. You can get by with more with heavier poundage bows but in the long run stay with a proven design and shaving sharp to kill quickly.

I think the basics of fixed blade head design are really simple. But people keep trying to gain a market by doing weird stuff with them, like those Toxic heads that have circular blades or the ones that used sharpened wires. If a head looks like a gimmick, I don't even consider it.

Some of the bows used today would be capable of killing deer with a blunt on a flu flu but my bows need broadheads that are strong and super sharp so I intend to stay away from the newest gimmicks.

I read a story where a guy doubled lunged a pronghorn with a judo point by mistake and didn't know it until he found the arrow after finding the speed goat.

I believe it was "the Nuge" that was shooting animals with blunts because he thought he could put tranquilizer darts on the end of his bow/arrows and then put animals to sleep (edit: the blunts were his proof of concept, as if he needed to prove he could hit animals with a blunt). It was a horrible idea and he was probably breaking the ribs of animals and not even knowing it. A needle probably would have killed them, unless he hit them perfectly in the rump or something.

I won the head on AT in a giveaway. I like Sean alot. Hell talk shop about broadheads for days. But this has to be the worst head he's made yet. The angle of attack is horrendous. It struggles to cut through all my test mediums because of those serrations. I imagine this head would stop instantly upon hitting anything hard. The damage would be crazy on a perfect broadside shot but other than that I'm not sold. 1000020965.jpg1000020966.jpg
