Short Bridge and the turn to the left

I like my tether about belly button to chest high. I use a platform and mostly lean/stand on the platform. This combo produces very little hip pinch. I'm quite comfy w/ very little fidgeting. If I raise my tether, I tend to fidget more. I lefty so when I go to shoot the off side ( left side) I have to pivot to the right and all the way around. If I pivot to the left my friction hitch(Sticht) hits the Biner which acts like a tender and I go for a bit of a ride. Scary! It always catches but still I don't care for it. I tell myself to turn right but sometimes I forget. I actually prefer turning to the left to shoot. The tether is across my chest and braces me. I'm very stable. Anyway, this only happens on a short bridge. I'm thinking of other options that would allow me to keep a short adjustable bridge. I was thinking of an Amsteel Whoopie sling bridge? That would eliminate the friction hitch. Right now I just put the biner in the middle of the hitch. I have no sudden drops backwards but the bridge doesn't slide either.

It sounds like the friction hitch that loosens is part of your adjustable bridge. If that's the case, you could tie a temporary stopper knot behind the friction hitch using the leftover bridge material.

I have an adjustable rope bridge and I accomplish this by daisy chaining the leftover bridge rope. Doing so makes the leftover bridge rope shorter and more manageable and it also acts like a stopper knot to prevent the situation you just described above.

I guess the only other option would be make a secondary bridge that isn’t adjustable. I typically run a short bridge as well, I’ve learned to move around using your tether and not the bridge if that makes sense. Don’t rotate your hips and let the bridge slide through that carabiner unless you absolutely have to, use your platform to move around.
