Single Rope Technique Questions

Hey all,
I am new to saddle hunting and bought a saddle and some gear off of here. The person I bought it from was going to use SRT so it has a bunch of the needed hardware. I have a few questions:

Do you still use the tree strap if you have a rope placed for SRT or do you keep both or disconnect?
Do you guys like using blakes hitches or Ropeman/Kong rope clamps?

Thanks for any advise and pictures if you have them.

You can use either your tree strap or the rope you climbed. I like to set up a separate tree strap so that I can have it positioned where I want it to be to hunt from, not just where the rope that I climbed had to go around the tree to climb.

I find that using the mechanical hardware is much easier than any hitches.

Great thanks. Do you stay connected to the climbing rope after you connect to your tree strap? If you disconnect, what do you do with the climbing rope to get it out of the way?

Once I hooked to my tether I would disconnect it. I would hook the gri gri2 that I use to my backpack so that it can't slide back down the rope.
