Yep, been there done that. Take off some(a bunch)of the inside lip of the female end with an exacto razor knife or dremmel type something, anything. You’ll love them and when you decide to one stick, just use one of them!

Once they get broke in they'll be much more manageable. They really are good sticks for the money, probably one of the better products that Hawk produces.

I agree it’s one of their best products, but I didn’t have the patience to break them in. I tried putting some Vaseline and it helps a little. Then I finally cut off some of the female lip and they became Money! I only left like 3 “tabs” if you will about 1/4” on each receiving end……they still held plenty tight and we’re easily removed from each other.

Can you send me a pic? Sounds good

mine broke in after two seasons. I also did the razor blade trick to trim the flashing on both sides. if you look at the way they are molded, the mold line is exactly at the constriction point on the female and the widest part of the mail. When the two halves of the mold don't come together perfectly you get 'flashing' or a tiny amount of the plastic squeezes out between the mold halves. That's what causes a lot of extra friction pulling them apart. Take a razor blade or some sandpaper and smooth that edge on both male and female joints and it helps a lot.
