Surviving Target Bucks

I have a hypothesis that they go to the same place teenagers go to party without getting caught. Similar cunning and small scale view of the world.
Indeed. Just like deer… some of our party spots ALWAYS got busted, but they were too good not to party at. So those of us who were clever made sure to park our trucks off the beaten path. We’d keep a keen eye out, and when the cops did come we’d slip off into the woods and watch the mayhem from a safe distance. Once they were gone we’d either return to the scene of the crime, or wait till the coast was clear and slip out a by a different route.

I can't complain in regards to great bucks to hunt. I had some giants on cam and in person the last couple of years. Obviously, the rifle guys are entitled to their hunting too. If anything I'd like to see doe season shortened up to a week tops.
I say no drives the first week. That's what wrecks things around here.

As much as I like doing little 3-4 man pushes which we do, I can't stand the big driving crews.

I don't really do target bucks. Mine is still alive I just don't know where.

This is an interesting hypothesis. You may be on to something. Maybe instead of looking for ballons in the woods we should start looking for piles of beer cans and empty bottles of Zima and Boone's Farm, lol.

Confusing place to hunt in my experience, mostly slickheads with balls and does with racks in those spots. Some of those does will really get your attention though.
