Any tips for setting up near/at beds in the swamp. I found on tbe other day on small hump in the swamp. The hump is to the south East of the swamp not in the middle. Its 80 yards to shore at its closest point. The hump is 15yards by about 8.

I'd hunt the exit and entry to the dry spot while paying close attention to the wind. If you can paddle a pirogue or canoe in quietly, even better. Actually playing the wind, bumping him off without him smelling you can be to your advantage. Normally that's his safe spot so he will return later. Bumping deer paddling seems to be extremely less evasive than human walking/wading/sloshing through the water.

I've also found that the deer will try to avoid the soft murky floors. If you can find the sandy firm bottom leading to dry spot then this will give you a leg up on entry and escape routes.

Thanks. This is new public piece to me. There's a stream nearby that I considered paddling down. Then a high birm used by ATVs at times. Then the swamp starts when I was there last it didn't appear consistently deep enough to paddle through. But I do recall a couple higher areas that joined the hump and the norm and the dry land South of it. That should do for a start. Thanks again. I've got a camera on it if I get something good I'll post them.

Pushing a pirogue you can get pretty close. If you know the bed and what he can see from it then ease in there and shoot him before he gets up. Do it on a windy day.

I sat right in the bed for a minute and looked around. He's got some great views but I think I can get him taking the long way. Definitley bringing waders and a little recce boat I think next time.
Thanks for all the help.

The older deer will be in there if you look around. The attached is from a swamp edge from one of the more pressured areas I hunt. 5 land owners surround this public access swamp. All are too lazy to scout the thick stuff and would rather sit in easy access spots.
