Won’t work out so great when trying to retrieve your rope if you rappel down.

I swear to god people on here will find a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist. Spend your money however you see fit.
Im having great luck with a Castration band
This is how I do mine. It works with any rope from 8mm to 11mm and it holds as tightly as you want it too. It doesn’t hurt the rope, and it won’t hurt a quick link either if that’s how your attaching your tether. It won’t wear out nearly as quickly as a rubber washer and it’s extremely easy to make one DIY.

I was using an elastic keeper and doing the same thing. It worked pretty good.I do a castration band but around the eye of the tether. I cinch the eye down tight on the tether part and when I’m done it can be used to keep the rope tidy
That particular hook is from a paracord tie down system. All the ends and sides are machined smooth and somewhat rounded. I tie a heavy duty elastic cord into a 10” loop then make a 4 wrap prusik onto the rope. It’a super light, it doesn’t interfere with anything, cheap (less than $6 to make) and it doesn’t start sliding down after you put weight in it because the elastic cordage pulls it back into shapeWhere is the hook from and what is it made of?

The hook is a light metal but honestly a delrin or acetal plastic hook would hold just as well because of the stretch of the cord so it’s only holding a limited amount of weight.Where is the hook from and what is it made of?
